If you’re on this site long enough you know that eventually every story has a “why isn’t anyone talking about this” phase and the answer sometimes is that something can be really, really important to you and still be a man bites dog story

Right now, the media is geared up to cover civil rights, coronavirus, the economy, and the campaign as major stories and that’s about it

Lots of things aren’t making the cut because of lots of reasons, some of which aren’t great but are long-standing

Your Twitter feed or CNN’s home page aren’t “the news” but “stories of the most importance to the most influential audience”, and sometimes stuff close to you will just be better covered by local media

I mean, journalists are being laid off every damn week and maybe “the media” isn’t some infinitely resourced industry that can cover everything equally well
