Toronto. A serial predator attempted to sexually assault me today at MacGregor Park. His m/o is to squirt something on women’s dresses, then approach them (in Spanish) saying you have something on your dress, offering a tissue, then sticking his hand up their skirt...
I was walking my dog around noon on a busy street and someone was walking uncomfortably close behind us. Because my dog is reactive and doesn’t like strangers near him, I pulled over to give my dog treats and wait for the person to pass...
We continued walking down the street after the man passed. We got to a park where there was a pizza party for a 6 year old (big foil “6” balloon) happening. My dog pooped in some grass so I picked it up and headed to the garbage can to throw out the poop....
When I turned around from the trash can, the man who had been following me down the street was standing right in front of me. He told me (in Spanish, which I understand a little) that he doesn’t speak English but that I have something on my back. He asked if I wanted tissues...
My dog (who, again, doesn’t like strangers and is v sensitive to bad male energy) started barking at the guy. The guy pointed to his back and again reiterated in Spanish I had something on my dress and wanted to wipe it for me...
It seemed weird that he was SO adamant about wanting to point this out to me, but my internal monologue told me “you’re probably overreacting” and “it’s probably just a language barrier” and my dog was getting increasingly upset so I just walked away abruptly...
Later I realized - hey, the dress I was wearing was fresh from the laundry, I put it on JUST before leaving the house and didn’t lean on or sit against anything so someone HAD to have put it on me deliberately. Plus, it was a small amount on a patterned dress - how did he see it?
I posted online about it and connected with someone who SAW IT HAPPEN TO ME and took photos of the guy bc it looked suspicious to her. Bless her. Here’s the perverted fucker:
Like many women I’ve been socialized to be polite to men even in situations where they make us feel deeply uncomfortable. If it weren’t for wanting to keep my dog calm when he was getting bad stranger danger vibes, I probably would’ve been too “polite” to leave quickly

There are reports of this same man doing the same thing to women recently at Value Village at Bloor/Lansdowne, No Frills at College/Lansdowne, and at a TTC station. Squirts something, offers tissues, attempts to touch... Beware!
