There are many young voters particularly who don't necessarily fully appreciate yet that this might be both their first and last shot at voting in a free and fair election in America. The Trumps' goal is an autocratic dynasty: Trump now; President Ivanka in 2024; Don Jr. In 2032.

PS/ Look what happened today: Trump's control of the intelligence community is so complete that we can no longer get information on whether the election is secure or fair. Trump's DOJ already declared that Trump can't be investigated for anything he does to win illegally in 2020.

PS2/ If Trump wins, his slate will be wiped clean for collusion and crimes committed in 2016/2020. All federal investigations of Trump and his team will be ended. Trump will issue pardons for anyone left with liability. The GOP will see have Trump family candidates going forward.

PS3/ It doesn't matter if you're a Republican reading these tweets or a Democrat: you know what I'm saying is true. You know this is Trump's party, and if he wants his family members to succeed him as the GOP presidential nominees through the 2030s, they will. You know that's so.

PS4/ You know no one who's not a Trump will be able to gain the popularity in the Trump Party a Trump can, and you know that Trump wants the White House to stay in his family.

And you know a corrupt DOJ and ODNI will hide from us what foreign nations are doing to aid the Trumps.

PS5/ I hear Joe, Kamala, and various Dems talking about this being the last free and fair US election—but somehow it always sounds like rhetoric. A theory. It's not mere words: if Trump wins, there's no reason for us to think the next US election will be a free and fair election.

PS6/ This is why media can't engage in business as usual. The Democrats can't engage in business as usual. Those who habitually *don't vote* in elections can't engage in business as usual. Because on the far side of this election quite literally and genuinely nothing is the same.

PS7/ How does anyone think being a journalist will be real, or important, or even *possible* in a one-party political system where there are no investigations of the executive branch and no oversight and no honest answers coming from those who are supposed to be keeping us safe?

PS8/ Are people who don't vote in 2020 going to go through the same harrowing descent into nightmarish autocracy over the next four years as the rest of us and finally decide to care in 2024—when there are no free and fair elections whose results we can trust left to be voted in?

PS9/ How comforting it must be for those who a) don't follow politics closely, b) come across threads like this, and c) presume it's all just partisan posturing or Chicken Little nonsense? How wonderful not to know about Barr's no-investigation edict at DOJ and the ODNI blackout!

PS10/ Say you won't listen to Trump biographers, or investigative journalists, or Democratic politicians, or legal experts, or national security experts, or—really—*any* analyst on what's coming if Trump wins.

Ignore them as you will, but *hear* what *historians* are saying now.
