I don't think a lot of younger people realize how great it is when men express admiration for women, esp. older women. Society admires us on our looks until about age 35. Then we see our expiration date looming. To see young men uplifting older women for their power is inspiring.
Men don't have to worry about an expiration date in the same way. Even when they cross their attractiveness peak, society still values them. Women spend our lives thinking about how attractive we are & then, after a certain point, many think we're just nags or invisible.
It's like we're valued when we're young, but this value hurts us. People underestimate us. People weigh us against each other. People make us uncomfortable. And, then, suddenly, as we age, even this harmful value is replaced. replaced w/ something that resembles denigration.
I think this is changing somewhat. I feel so happy when I see men championing women for their minds & personalities & skills--both older & younger women.
