I met a woman today that told us a very strange story. Let's call her Jane. Jane came to Mongu from her village to look for work. When she got to Mongu, she met a lady that offered her a job as her mother's caretaker.
The specifics of the job were that she was to bathe and feed her boss' mother and she was given strict instructions NEVER to leave the old lady unattended under any circumstances. A hefty pay just to feed and bathe an unproblematic mostly sleeping old lady? Jane took the job!
She was content. It was easy and she was sending a good amount of money back home. Some months on the job, her boss' relatives came to visit and she let them in. She told them that her boss wasn't home and she was her mother's caretaker. This shocked the visitors..
The visitors told her that her boss's mother had passed on years ago and showed her pictures and videos of the funeral. Jane was stunned because the woman in the pics and vids was the old lady she'd been bathing and feeding for months! She said nothing else and the visitors left.
When her boss came home, she told her that her relatives had come by and that they'd said her mother was dead. Her boss asked her if she showed the visitors the room her mother was in. She said no. The woman told Jane that if she ever showed anyone the old lady, she'd die...
Jane decided it was time to leave. There was a guard at the gate who was tasked with running all errands so that Jane had no excuse to leave the house. One afternoon, she asked the guard to get her some vegetables. Immediately he left, she bolted and never returned.
Jane says she hasn't had the courage to look for work again since then 🥺
Obviously, I cannot verify the facts of this story but I couldn't be the only one spooked 😬 Good night and don't forget to pray 🙏🏽 Ku nani ma loyi mwa lifasi mo 😬
