#LoyolaProtests students are gathering on the east side of Cuneo Hall for the ninth straight day of protests on Loyola’s campus. The group is calling for the university to better support Black students and cut ties with CPD, among other things.
Protestors have moved into the intersection of North Kenmore Avenue and West Sheridan Road, blocking traffic.
Some Stritch School of Medicine students, members of “White Coats for Black Lives,” have come out in support of the protests.
The protesters are on the move. The group of about 100 people are weaving through traffic as they make their way south on North Sheridan Road.
Some cars on North Sheridan Road honk in support as protestors continue south. CPD officers are following the group.
Protestors reached the intersection of North Sheridan Road and North Lake Shore Drive. Now, the group is heading west on West Hollywood Avenue.
The group is heading north on North Broadway Street, chanting “Black lives matter.”
