My takeaways from today's #Chelsea friendly with an eye on #FPL from a tactical stand point and who could thrive this season!
Chelsea has the potential to be one of the best sources for value in FPL with their players priced in the mid priced region but with great potential(1/N)

for points after the successful last season and the signings that has been made over the summer!
Today we setup in our normal 4-3-3 formation and gave debuts to Ziyech and Werner. Werner scored after 4 mins and looked good, but is he the best option?

While Brighton had the ball this looked to be the formation Lampard wanted. RLC was at the front of the high pressure line, much like we see KDB a lot of the times for City. If we break the ball high, there's potential for whoever get that spot to be in and around the goals.
Werner seemed to naturally drift to the left a bit which could open up a space through the middle for Pulisic/CHO. CHO had a few attempts in this game but lacked the finesse and decisiveness to convert. I think Pulisic can do good from this position.
Ziyech's left foot will be a great weapon! He took most set pieces and it was his cross that eventually lead to Werner's goal. He plays really wide and again it opens up the middle for whoever is in the attacking position of the front three as well for Pulisic/CHO to attack
from the opposite wing. As pointed out by the guys at @FMLFPL the left wing in Ajax (Tadic and Promes) were really the ones who scored big the last two season and more often than not it was because of Ziyech's creativity from opposite wing.
As Ziyech tried to cut inside to use his left foot it also created space for James to come on the outside with his right foot. The young talent may be another great asset in this team as we look to sure up our defence and his great attacking potential as well playing with Ziyech
So in my opinion; any of the front three looks a great option; Werner, Pulisic and Ziyech. James should be the one to go for in defence if he nails down the spot because of the 0.5 you save on Chilwell.
The position that may have the most potential is whoever plays in the more attacking role in the midfield three in front of Kovacic and Kanté. There are so many options here:
Barkley, RLC, Mount, Havertz(?). But they way we set up tactically this position should end up in a lot of goalscoring opportunities.
Agree or disagree!? I'll be following Chelsea closely obviously so any questions and I'll be happy to help #FPLCommunity
