i want to take this time to give some information on an important matter;
(a thread)
colorectal cancer affects both men & women
everyone should get screening after age of 50 with regular intervals(suggested by your doctor)
Early diagnosis & treatment most of the time leads cure.
If you or a family member of yours have colorectal polyps, familial adenomatous polyposis or colorectal cancer history
If you have an inflammatory bowel disease such as: crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis
screening starts earlier than 50 years of age.
risk groups for colorectal cancer include;
-older age
-family history of colorectal cancer
-male sex
-black race/ethnicity
-diet with low fibers
-high alcohol consumption
-overweight and obesity
-smoking
-lack of physical activity
-According to WHO, colorectal cancer is the second most common tumor among men and women, after lung tumors.
-Around 2% of people > 50 years of age develops colorectal cancer in Europe.
-Colorectal cancer usually affect men and women equally. But men tends to have in early ages.
The mos important thing to know is
screening;
detects polyps before it becomes cancerous
detects colon cancer during its early stages.
With these, the chances of a cure is very much higher wccording to many clinical trials/researches.
