⚠️Why the “truth” doesn’t exist, a thread some of you might find interesting:
*disclaimer: this is not a 100% exact thing, it’s based on what I’ve studied and read, and as the description of the thread itself explains, there might be different points of view.
Let’s start by the common definition of “truth”. It’s very difficult to define this term, but here you have the most common ones.
Let’s focus on the second one, it’s gonna be the most useful for us and my perspective.
According to that definition, the “truth” depends of each culture, likings, opinions...You can guess what I’m talking about.
With this definition you can already guess the “truth” isn’t absolute or the same everywhere, it depends of how a culture and moral are constructed.
Here we have a phylosopical perspective and definition. It basically says the same as above, but with different words.
What’s “true” for you might not be “true” for another person, and that doesn’t mean she’s wrong.
2 people can tell the same event/anecdote in 2 different ways, even if they have lived it together. Does that mean one of them is lying?
Not at all, it’s simply different REALITIES.
In order to have an absolute “truth”, we should put together every single different “reality”; and that’s basically impossible.
What we can do is put as many “realities” as possible together to have a bigger picture and a better view of the matter.
That still doesn’t mean someone’s 100% right, not even in the most basic and “obvious” matters.
Nothing is that simple, never. Everything can have different perspectives and aspects.
That doesn’t mean someone’s wrong or that there’s 1 only and correct perspective.
So, please, when you face a controversial matter, ALWAYS dig deeper and look for different perspectives and information before stating your opinion and “reality”.
Ps: I must also note down here that “understanding” something doesn’t mean you agree with it or excuse it.
You can understand multiple perspectives and not agree with them.
Try not to be so closed minded and open your mind to different opinions. That will teach you a lot.
If you have any doubt/opinion please feel free to add it or share it 🥰 and dm me if you’d like to know more.
If I find the project I presented about this in college I’ll show you more specific stuff.
