I've struggled a bit with the backlash against @energy106fm's hiring of Dave Wheeler.

Should people be forever held to their prior mistakes? Can people learn and grow? Is it right to contact advertisers to ask them to pull their ad buys?

So I listened to Wheeler's podcast.
Among the dick jokes, I was treated to content denigrating homeless people, drug addicts, people from transcona, and "b*tchy, c*nty women".

Dave Wheeler only knows how to punch down.

His one joke is dunking on people who he perceives to be less than.
It's low brow, dumb, cheap humor that sadly plays well for a certain demographic. Fine, whatever. Not sure how that'll play for the 106 audience, but what do I know?

BUT THEN
One segment was a pizza ad (skit?) That mocked Black Lives Matter, saying that "black olives matter", that "black olives have been oppressed for too long because of their color & deserve inclusion".

They were comparing the struggle for Black Lives to toppings on a pizza.

Barf.
I don't believe Dave Wheeler has changed, his terrible judgement and bad taste is intact. He simply doesn't deserve a platform.

Please share and reply with contact info of any Energy 106 stakeholders, they need to hear from us.

I'll start:
This is the feedback page for the Evanov radio group, owners of Energy 106.

Notably, their founder, Bill Evanov opened Pride FM, Toronto's first LGBTQ centric radio station, in 2007. He passed earlier this year, sadly.

Someone was kind enough to post the "black olives matter" ad on YouTube.
