1. This may seem technical, but it's incredibly important. States should begin counting mail-in ballots well before Election Day, to avoid a scenario where one candidate has a large lead at the end of Election Day which then vanishes as mail-in ballots are counted, https://twitter.com/amyewalter/status/1299754693737025538
2. Right now, Republican voters overwhelmingly say they will vote in person, while a majority of Dems say they'll vote by mail. If that plays out in Nov., and counting of mail-in ballots doesn't start until Election Day, it's a perfect recipe for a legitimacy crisis.
3. The easy solution is what PA wants to do - start counting mail-in ballots earlier, as they come in. But if you live in any state that is not going to do that, you should vote in person, unless it's impossible or too dangerous for you to do so.
4. I know we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Nonetheless, it's irresponsible at this point for the Democratic Party to encourage mail-in voting, unless states are going to be able to have most mail-in ballots counted by the end of Election Day.
