So the passing of @PatsonDzamara hit me in a weird way. I saw a tweet speaking to his being ill and raising money for medical attention. I hoped for the best and never got to donate... all the while being hopeful. I then felt guilty after his passing...
I felt as if I not only failed him, but also his brother who was willing to show up for all our rights! Itai Dzamara, Dirk and Charles were occupying physical spaces and regularly finding themselves behind bars for it.
The thing is that there are many different ways to arriving around your purpose and showing up for your fellow man and woman, no act too small and too big
We live very finite lives with ripple effects that influence beyond our expectations. We must ensure for the sake of all those that have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice that we etched our bit on the right side of history because #ZimbabweanLivesMatter today and as always!
What really got me feeling bad is that while I was processing the death of @PatsonDzamara news of the death of @chadwickboseman cake through. And it’s always the social media war of “ you celebrate people you don’t know before your own” but t I felt bad for both....
What made it worse is that I am a comic book geek and also followed his career while escaping bits of my existence. Two things resonated on the passing of these two men. They were men that lived beyond their personal calling and men who inspired through their engagements
They proved that you can push through even your personal wars and fight for causes some didn’t even know needed to be fought for. This experience taught me to check in on my beloved peeps online and offline... We are not okay and we are all we have! #ZimbabweanLivesMatter
