Yesterday, activists got @moderna_tx to commit to making sure that their vaccine will be available to Americans "at not cost."

This is a win for many, but I have some questions.

A thread:
@uaem @FTV_Boston @theC4AA
First, I wonder if "no cost" extends to uninsured Americans, who currently are not protected from costs by existing COVID relief packages.

Especially while we hit record numbers of people losing coverage: https://twitter.com/FamiliesUSA/status/1296810444347277313?s=20
Second, this administration has a track record of policies designed to narrowly define who is protected in our country.

So does @moderna_tx's pledge count toward undocumented folks, or just naturalized citizens? https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2005953
Third - Taking this pledge along with previous comments where @moderna_tx committed to "making a profit" can we assume that Moderna has now made its profit from bulk purchases, and anyone should be able to get the vaccine for free?

If so, thank you.
The ultimate question is, will @Moderna_tx commit to ACTUALLY providing this potentially lifesaving vaccine at no cost to those who need it— or, will it be complicit in the deaths of millions worldwide despite holding the answer to the pandemic?
