So I showed my therapist some of the toxicity that gets sent to myself and other members of the team. I'm super used to it at this point, I've seen the worst since Bayo on PS3 and GamerGate.... But she has absolutely aghast.
She was curious, "Well, can't you do anything?" "Nope. Just gotta deal with it. Apparently, this is what I signed up for by having a twitter account and working on a video game."

And it's true. What am I gonna do, argue with random, toxic people on the internet?
So this is why my block/mute list is so long. The first shot of toxicity is free. I gotta read it. It sucks. But I take one good look at that person's tweets and they are quickly banished. My mental health and my career are more important than engaging in twitter spats.
The interesting thing is to those being toxic, it is a single tweet without consequence. Just expressing themselves.

But being on the receiving end... Here's something to try. Set up a tweet deck filter for someone "known" and see what gets tweeted at them. It's shocking.
We all know Twitter isn't going to do a damn thing about toxicity.

Then you've got "influencers" who are weaponizing toxicity so they can make money. What am I gonna do, send YouTube my therapy bill?
