THREAD: I've read a bunch of books and articles about the new wave of white supremacists and how they began as liberals and then were "red-pilled" or whatever & I have a theory about why some people become white supremacists:

They are....dumb.

As in, they are just not very smart.

Imagine how ignorant you'd have to be of world history to think that your ancestors, the Vikings, created civilization? Or how ignorant of human biology to think that it's better genetically for only homogenous groups of people to reproduce?

Of economics to think that the global south just takes the resources produced by the global north? Or that white people just being smarter and better explains gaps in wealth? etc etc.

As I read these accounts of people "reasoning" their way into these views, it's like watching someone make unsupported logical leap after leap and it's honestly just puzzling because they think they are figuring something out, but it's just so dumb.

So maybe white supremacy is the perfect illustration of the Dunning-Kruger effect? Just a thought.
