Hey friends, the future of study abroad looks pretty dark right now, so I'm job searching. If you know of any jobs I'd be dangerously good at, will you send them my way? lisa at lisamunro dot net
Resume highlights include the following: PhD in Latin American history, lots of study abroad experience and teaching, I've lived in Mexico/Guatemala for close to then years total. Full professional fluency in Spanish.
I'm also an advocate for people and communities, having worked in victim advocacy. I went to Puerto Rico in 2017 to do disaster mental health work with hurricane survivors. I also write expert witness reports for asylum seekers.
I'm a former Peace Corps volunteer ( #RPCV), where I served for two years in Guatemala. I worked with groups of Maya women on small scale economic development projects and taught English.
I'd like to stay in some kind of role that's Latin America related. (I am past the arbitrary "sell by" date for faculty jobs.) Non profits? Think tanks? Something remote? I'm open. CV and resume available on request. (The resume is more interesting.)
Forgot to add that I also do writing support/development in my spare time. If your institution could use some writing help, hit me up.
I'm also not geographically limited and I'm open to relocating for the right thing.
