Last night in New Hampshire, Trump repeated a bunch of the false claims from his RNC speech. He also added some more. Quick thread, with the help of colleagues @HolmesLybrand and @tarasubramaniam:
Trump said, "By the way, you know, Mexico is paying for the wall, just in case you didn't know that." (Mexico is not paying for the wall. Americans are paying for the wall.)
Trump said that, under Biden's plan, "you're gonna lose your private health care." He added, "We're gonna lose 185 million people who have private health insurance." (Biden is not proposing to scrap private insurance. He defeated candidates running on Medicare-for-All.)
Trump went further about the Iraq War, this time explicitly saying that while Biden supported it, "I was against the Iraq War." (Trump expressed only support for the invasion before it happened. He didn't become publicly opposed until more than a year in.)
He this time added Biden to his usual imaginary story about Hillary Clinton, saying they both had claimed the US-Korea trade deal would produce 250,000 jobs, but it actually did that for Korea. (Neither Clinton nor Biden ever made such a prediction.)
Trump further embellished his claim to have gotten $130B "a year" extra NATO spending, this time saying it'll go up to $400B a year. (It's not all Trump and it's not "a year." It's an estimated $130B *total* by 2020, over 2016 levels, and an estimated $400B *total* by 2024.)
Trump did his shtick where he pretends to notice that CNN "turned off" its camera as he was criticizing CNN. (CNN's photojournalists don't stop recording when he criticizes CNN. And there is no way he could know if they did; they don't use a visible light.)
