VR is not doing well compared to regular game, it's normal it's about volume.

But following @benz145 remark about the "Indies [...] should be dumping marketing to create a profitable feedback loop"

It got me interested in where traffic from the 3 VR news site goes to...
Thread:
@RtoVR Road to VR.

July total visit: 681.70K

As you can see... First is 11.87% goes to Steam...
@UploadVR Upload VR:

July total visit 1.33M (!)

13.90 goes to... GITHUB???
What happened in July!?

12.8+6.22> 19% goes to BeatSaber related site... !?
@VRFocus VR Focus

July total visit : 217.09K

29.21% goes to Steam!
I pulled these from:
https://www.similarweb.com

Of course to take these with relative care, but I found it interesting.
There are a ton of other fun stats in there!

As a pure Indie I always though we should help each other so we ALL "Grow together"
But that's another subject...
All fitted into one image, easier for you to compare:
Traffic is 55-58-75% from Searches...
Seems pretty standard compared to IGN

BUT... Total visit in july: 76.85M !
Look how tiny VR is.......

(I can't get referal stats)
6.35% of 76.85 Million, IGN traffic is from Social.
Fb dominating with more than half!

No wonder my Game doesn't sell well, I don't do Fb...

You can see the impact of Regular SNS and YTb too:
6.35% 76.9M: 4.791.710
7.45% of that is 356.982

I thought YTb would be much bigger
What should we take from these stats?

That the ONLY marketing that work is directly sending Marketing material to Review sites?
As SNS is not doing much.

So that means it's... you HAVE to pass the gatekeep: know someone there already... so if you don't: no review?
Or...bribes?
@RtoVR & @UploadVR didn't review or even mention my SU release.
Nor any YouTbers.

That still baffles me...

Would have loved to see the impact of one that's for sure.
ONE thing I am sure of, is that we are ALL in this together.

The one that "made it" should help the nexts, so 1 by 1 we all grow and get VR economy balanced for ALL of us.

I don't understand why it doesn't happens.
A RT, a like, to promote the"next in line" is so hard??
We all talk about how the big one are selfish & dehumanised
We know what they are & how they operate.

So we have US.
Just us.
The (still) human side of the business.

I've always been there to help, always will be.
That's the way it should be.
We can't make it alone. No one can.
