The level of denial present in society has begun to border on the absurd. Every day people burn down buildings, loot businesses, and attack, threaten, and intimidate others in public. In effect, we are living through an erasure of the public sphere, by contagion.

If the preferred election result takes place, some of this could be relaxed and some bits of normalcy could return. But it will never be as it was before. There is no going backwards through incentive structures.

In a no growth environment, the economic opportunity is to convince the public of the necessity to seize government funds; in the form of subsidies, grants, government contracts, fiscal stimulus, etc. This is being accomplished through extensive social engineering campaigns.

The economic machine that has been spun up in merely a few months has grown to trillions of dollars in market cap, and it will take a decade or longer for it to deploy all of its capital. Make no mistake, this is all just beginning. By my count, we’re in about the 3rd inning.

An important perspective to have is that there's no reason to think this will resolve itself on the timescale of the individual. This incentive structure is relatively new, and it has only begun to run its course. So you’re going to have to learn to live your life around it.

While it is growing and becoming more all encompassing, it is still your responsibility to yourself, your family, and your community to live a satisfying and fulfilling life. This will necessarily come with personal adjustment.

Your old visions of satisfaction and fulfillment may have to change in order to adapt to this new environment. The sooner you can accept this and move on, the better. The time has come to stop craving a return to even our way of life from a year ago, because it isn’t coming back.
