1/ @JamesMelville asks us to follow people we don't agree with - so been following @berniespofforth.

Interesting to see how someone who considers herself evidence based using subtle framing / selective evidence / false equivalence to make her case.

Some examples...
2/ Here @berniespofforth contends children shouldn't wear masks it is unscientific. When presented with WHO guidance and examples from other countries - nothing.

In fact she likes a tweet with dangerous and wrong advice saying asymptomatic people cannot spread CV19.

3/ In this tweet she seems to hold teachers responsible for masks not the Gov / Education Dept - then later tacks back to say Gov should provide masks:

But this subtly reinforces the message - school safety is teacher's problem - Gov absolved.

4/ Here at the same time as Tice want to protect his commercial property interests calling for stopping remote working, @berniespofforth does the same saying she cares for service staff. Surprising when she doesn't mind the many industries that will suffer from Brexit.

5/ @berniespofforth really doesn't seem to like #BLM, here she seems to imply BLM protesters (wrongly) haranguing someone (who does actually support BLM) is like terrorism but nothing on police shooting man in the back and white vigilante killing 2 BLM protesters in the same week
6/ This is interesting - here she implies highly paid MoD jobs are causing loss of moral in the armed forces.

Look at the example she picks - Directory of Diversity & Inclusion. Wonder what the messaging here is. 🤔

Nothing about Cummings plan to decimate the armed forces.
7/ So when @JamesMelville says we should engage with the other side - I think I agree with him, but not necessarily to find common ground, but to challenge and call out the messaging for what it is.
