how i stopped binging — a thread
notes:
- this is my personal experience
- this is more aimed to people like me who binge and restrict, if you only binge this may not be the best for u srry
1) don’t cry about slightly going over your limit

↳ let yourself have a small portion of whatever you’re craving. it’s better to go over your limit a little than binge and be 2000kcal over your limit and mess up your whole week.
2) make/buy the food in small portions.

↳ this helped me the most. if you only boil a small portion of pasta, chances are you won’t get up again to boil more to binge on. if you only keep 5 cookies in the house, you can’t binge on 20
3) tweet EVERY time you binge or you’re about to binge.

↳ i’m acc serious lol tweet about it or text your friend about the fact you’re about to binge. if you can’t do it then you don’t need the food bad enough
4) count your calories when a binge starts.

↳ all of them. count them all. you’ll either be horrified and stop in your tracks or glad that you haven’t gone too far & stop.
5) keep a low kcal soda or snack on hand.

↳ if you really have a binge urge to fulfil, do it with diet coke, rice cakes and popcorn ONLY. you won’t do that much damage calorie wise but you still get the feeling.
6) physically get away from the food

↳ this is good for ppl like me who are fine throughout the day and binge at night. go to your bedroom & get comfortable, even go to sleep. when u get up the next day you’ll feel accomplished for not binging
7) DON’T get stuck in a fucking cycle.

↳ if you binge, keep it moving the next day. don’t cry about it. go back to your limit, or start a fast if you can. think about how far you’ll set yourself back if you keep binging. you just tasted all the food, you don’t need it again
8) weigh yourself everyday

↳ personally there’s no way i could see something good on the scale and mess it up. & if you see something bad don’t get any fatter 😀
9) if you wake up really feeling like binging, schedule a high calorie day instead.

↳ i’ll let myself eat 1200kcal with light exercise whenever i know there’s a good chance i’ll binge, because i can eat the food i would’ve binged on whilst still losing weight
10) count your calories when a binge starts.

↳ all of them. count them all. you’ll either be horrified and stop in your tracks or glad that you haven’t gone too far & stop.
end of thread

this is what worked for me & this is how i can low restrict for ages without getting into a binge cycle. of course i still binge sometimes but this helped me do it way less so like yeah
