Being disabled is so fucking expensive. Not only is my income severely limited because the vast majority of jobs are inaccessible, but it's just more expensive to live. I don't want to pay for take out three or four days a week. I don't want to uber every 10 minute walk.
I don't want to have to buy the more expensive version of everything so I don't have a reaction. I don't want to pay a premium for an accessible place to live. For mobility aids. I don't want to have to do all this while relying on an unstable self-employment income.
And I've not even started on paying for medications and treatments and appointments.
This is why it really pisses me off when people try to call me lazy or bad with money for all those ubers and take outs.

Because its a cycle. They think I'm lazy because I uber everywhere, therefore I'm probably not even disabled - just making excuses for being lazy.
What it all comes down to is that abled people really can't comprehend the idea that disabilities can be as bad as they are (unless you're so obviously disabled that they no longer see you as human like them). They force everything into their own narrow world view.
Nobody wants to admit that maybe they're lucky just to be able to walk and eat.
