Calling the bluff on PM CARES:
PM CARES claims to be a public charitable trust that takes voluntary corporate CSR & public contributions.
The use of voluntary donations has been used as an excuse to stonewall RTI queries & CAG audit.
But Modi, sadly, is weak in history.

In 2014, the Modi govt set up 2 public charitable trusts
1. Swacch Bharat Kosh
2. Namami Gange aka. Clean Ganga Trust.
Through a notification, BOTH these trusts were made CSR-eligible allowing companies to donate. They were also allowed to accept foreign funds.

But here's the catch:
Financials of BOTH Swacch Bharat Kosh as well as Namami Gange (Clean Ganga) trust can be requested under RTI.
And what's more: BOTH these funds are audited by the CAG every year despite receiving voluntary CSR contributions from corporates.

Question: what makes PM CARES exempt from rules that apply to both Swacch Bharat Kosh & Namami Gange Trust?
It's this: PM CARES collected more CSR donations in 3 days than BOTH funds did in 6 years.
Other than pure embezzlement, there's no cause for PM CARES' secrecy.
