The thing is most of the poor converts who go to convent schools end up becoming English speaking waiters,salesmen,cooks, drivers,security guards,maids and low paying blue collar jobs not engineers

Most of the rich Lower caste/tribal Christians are the ones who were already powerful and elite of their own caste before their conversion.
So Christianity hasn't been really been able to pull most of its lower socio-economic group converts out of poverty

Despite speaking fluent English than many UC middle class and above people, most of these guys have not been able to spin that advantage into a gainful employment and pull themselves out of poverty.

I know too many Dalit and tribal converts who have been thrown out of "convent schools" for not paying fees.
Most of the Dalit and tribal converts bar their influential/richer sections also don't get government jobs despite reservations and despite them hiding their conversion

However I've seen many poor Dalits come out of poverty in one generation by getting a government job and many of these guys had way poorer language skills than many of these convent educated ones.

Sure English education is a massive advantage but home support and personal ambition+hard work is what that makes difference in the end

A lot of Converted Dalits/Adivasis keep stagnating in their previous financial conditions because the church actively grooms them into going into the blue/pink collar low wage paying jobs.
Sure any job is a good job for them given their initial financial conditions

But it also is a stagnating hellhole and I've seen Many of my converted Christian poor acquitances happily stagnating in those jobs.
Even reserving for SC/STs in private will ensure only the richer and already uplifted section of these societies get easy jobs in Google etc

Infact Christianity ensures caste distinctions stay even more and they ensure most of their followers stagnate economically even more than Hinduism

If you're a stupid urbanite snowflake who thinks s/he's doing a favour to Dalits/Adivasis/women and other oppressed groups by converting to Christianity, think again and re-assess your decision.
