1) You first need to get your SUBJECT line correct.
It is very important - this is the heading of your email and it tells the person what they are about to read.

So with the SUBJECT line be as descriptive as possible and remember you are NOT the only person applying to the job and maybe the company is hiring for other positions so it is advisable to put the position your applying for and your full name.
E.g Media Officer - Ivyn Sambo

2) Get the greeting right. Don't just say "Dear Sir/Ma" you may not know thier gender but that salute makes people feel weird. Say "Dear Hiring Manager" or try to get the name of the person hiring by googling the email address. Putting thier actual name works as an advantage.
3)Introduce yourself in a professional manner.
Introduce yourself with your name, a passion that ties you to the role you are applying for. If your educational achievements and the role do not tally, state your enthusiasm for a field related to what you are applying for.

Keep it brief as the Hiring Managers will not have the time to go through a long e-mail, save that energy for your cover letter.
Just try to keep it simple but emphasize your strong points and skills plus experience here(Not at too much).

Do not forget to state the role you are applying for and where you saw the vacancy.
4) Close your email well and showcase your strengths.
Have a closing statement that under one line creates an exciting expectation about reading your actual CV and when you sign off your email put your name and contact information plus your link to your LinkedIn profile.

Ensure your LinkedIn profile is updated and fresh. Try to keep it similar to your CV. Also remember a huge number of hiring managers now prefer using LinkedIn so it just an extra advantage.

5) Don't forward email from one application to another. Each one must be made for each hiring manager and written with that company in mind.
Remember to also have your CV in PDF format and name it after yourself e.g CV of Ivyn Sambo.
