Tonight it feels right to share my real #WakandaForever story. I met Ryan Coogler at TED 2 years ago, and said, “As an archaeologist who specializes in satellites- you nailed Wakanda.” He said “What do you mean?” 1/3

I told him “There are likely multiple undiscovered great civilizations beneath the dense rainforests of Central Africa that could rewrite the history of the African continent. We’ll find them in the next decade using laser mapping technology. They are all Wakandas.” 2/3

He was blown away, and said “I truly had no idea.” I told him bringing to life ancient civilizations- and all that they had to teach the world- was the core of archaeology, and I would forever be grateful for his gift to our field. We watch bits in my classes. FIN
