There’s a lot of heartbreaking things about Chadwick Boseman’s death, but I can’t stop thinking of how he had to hide this disability
Black Panther was played by a Black disabled man. My heart feels so broken
The fact that he had to hide his disability has everything to do with the way we treat Black disabled people.
Had he been open about his disability he would not have been able to play that role and that truth break my heart. He suffered in silence.
I want to live in a world where Black people can be openly disabled and play superheros. The fact that this man played the roles he did while quietly undergoing chemotherapy is amazing. I wish we could have known what he was going through
Colon cancer takes the lives of so many Black folks. I wish we would have known. I’m praying for his family 🙏🏾
So many people were making comments about his eyes and his weight and his facial expressions, all while he was navigating this sickness. It hurts
