This is a thread on how united could line up next season if we sign Kante and a few others:
The 442:

This is what I would prefer to play as we know that greenwood is arguably a striker, so him next to martial, with rashford playing games aswell would be good for rotation and having one of them 3 on the bench would be good for options if struggling.
Sancho is actually better on the left, from what I’ve seen, he get a lot of his goals and assists off the left hand side. Bruno on the right may confuse you, but he’s played there previously for sporting and is actually a good crosser. He tends to go out wide aswell.
Bruno heat map, mainly goes towards the right. Could be an inverted right mid for us.
Onto the midfield. Matic does miss out here, Kante and Pogba in a flat midfield would be more successful. This would also allow Pogba to be more advanced, where he’s best played. People may worry about getting hit on the counter. Bruno can come into the middle and help cover.
Bruno tracks back a lot already for a 10 so I think he’d be more than capable doing it here.
I’ve gone with Dalot> AWB here as if the wide men come inside(which they will) we need attacking full backs to overlap and be there to create something out wide, hence why we should also buy reguilon, we seen against us especially that he’s a top player, and he’s a bargain.
I really don’t rate maguire so I’d play lindelof as I can’t see us getting two centre backs(I can’t see us building this) but lindelof is a better defender than maguire.Pau Torres has been rumoured and the only realistic option that I’d take for a left footed left back(next page)
And it seems he’s good, he’s quick, decent on the ball, and left footed, pretty rare, but I’ve also thrown in Romagnoli, AC won’t sell him but he’s a good CB, and already knows how it is to have pressure on you as he’s captain of AC Milan.
In goal I’m going de gea, this team is more attacking so I’m trusting de gea> Henderson. Henderson has looked good at Sheffield who play a low block, so he gets shots towards him from favourable angles. De Gea is still my choice.
I will finish of this thread talking about the 4231 setup, I don’t really like the 4231, but it’s another way to play players to give players rest and rotate.
The 4231:

Martial up front is a given, was brilliant up top last season and with sancho in hopefully he gets more service. Rashford would play on the left where he normally plays now, maybe even come inside more as we would have sancho on the right who can create.
Bruno is in the 10 role where we’ve seen him thrive this season, bringing the ball forward and feeding it through to the front 3
In this setup Kante doesn’t play, he can’t sit deep in this formation like how matic can do, which allows Pogba to move around a bit more as matic is the holding DM, we’ve seen him this season and how he’s helped massively.
At full back Reguilon is a must over Luke shaw, Luke shaw isn’t good at all imo and reguilon is an improvement there as an all round full back. On the right hand side, AWB can work there IF he improves his attacking game, I’m torn between if he’s shit or good.
Dalot would obviously bring attacking play to that RB role but maybe against games like City we need a Wan-Bissaka to play and keep the winger quiet.
The centre backs will be the same as they are in the 442 system and again here I’m going De Gea in goal.
End of thread.
