every episode of the view from somewhere feels like its speaking right to my heart
idk I remember being in journalism school and constantly butting heads/getting into arguments with professors and instructors r.e. the reality that there is no such thing as objective journalism.
its wild remembering testy conversations about how immoral it is to simply "observe". how unacceptable the way the status quo is in reporting.

its forcing me to acknowledge and respect my own choice to leave journalism behind as a profession.
I couldn't reconcile the demands of potential employers to never post about politics on social media or in my personal life. Not when the existence of everyone I love is treated as political. When my own existence is treated as political.
idk this thread isn't very clean or well thought out. Its just...interesting. this podcast is good and past me is very grateful to be listening.

there really is no such thing as objective journalism.
defending the illusion of objectivity is not the hill to die on.
