So. Turnabout Wedding. It’s a hypothetical case in aa7, maybe the last case, maybe DLC? I think it’d work better as DLC.

You play as Athena (because she deserves more screen time and development). The case starts with Athena and Apollo heading to a rehearsal for “The Wedding.”
For the WHOLE case, up until the end, it’s only referred to as The Wedding. It’s never revealed WHOSE wedding it is. All the characters know, though, and why would they feel the need specify who the couple is? Obviously you can see where this is going lol
When Athena and Apollo arrive, they’re greeted by Trucy, who says that everyone is freaking out because the wedding planner has gone missing. So, you investigate and discover a corpse hidden behind several floral arrangements. The florist is arrested and becomes the defendant.
So, the case follows the Wright anything agency as they try to solve the mystery, but really everyone’s more worried about how the wedding’s going to fare without the wedding planner or the florist.
A lot of the case would be just talking to different characters ABOUT the wedding, and trying to slowly piece together whose wedding it IS.
Slowly across the days in court and investigating segments, the player and characters discover that the florist was framed and the murder was planned by someone who wanted to stop the wedding... someone whose dying wish was to make sure Edgeworth never got married...
It was Oldbag. She adopted the “If I can’t have you, nobody can!” mentality and paid like the cadaverinis to murder Edgeworth’s spouse if he ever got married. But the murderer made a mistake a la Mr. Ratburn and thought that the wedding planner was Edgeworth’s fiancé, not Phoenix
(She did all this from beyond the grave. It was written in her will, all her money went to them as long as they murdered Edgeworth’s fiancé) (this is a very half-baked antagonist/murder plot but I just think it would be so funny okay)
(Also I don’t know exactly who she would have paid to do it.... I haven’t gotten that far fjshhehevsvwv)
So in court the real murderer is cornered until they confess to murdering mr. Edgeworth’s fiancé and EVERYONE goes silent because. What? That wasn’t Mr. Edgeworth’s fiancé. Mr. Edgeworth’s fiancé is the one in the blue suit behind the defense bench. He’s waving at you
And that’s the big reveal!!!! Edgeworth and Phoenix are the couple! It’s their wedding!!
So he epilogue of the case is right before the real wedding reception’s about to begin. You speak to Phoenix and Edgeworth individually, and they each talk about what they’re feeling-nervous, happy, excited, stressed, but overall, very, very ready.
And so the case would end on a trilogy-esque still image of Phoenix and Edgeworth exchanging rings with the most lovesick expressions on their faces, and the whole supporting cast of ace attorney- from the trilogy, spinoffs, AJ, DD and SOJ- in the audience, cheering
Bonus points if there’s like a montage of scrapbook/photo album of moments, like the cake cutting, the bouquet toss, best man/ maid of honor speeches, and FAMILY PHOTOS because FOUND FAMILY IS MY SHIT
Or maybe.... a full animated cutscene.... of the wedding ceremony and reception.... featuring the kiss....
I know this thread is kind of vague and all over the place... it was hard for me to write it because the case kind of only exists in my mind as a collection of vague thoughts rather than like.... a cohesive plot fhehrbbeveheb
I just really like the idea of the setting of the case being a wedding that everyone’s excited for, but it’s never revealed who the engaged are until the very end
Also the idea that Phoenix and Edgeworth’s wedding would be put in jeopardy because someone was murdered is so fitting for the series
If y’all want to share any thoughts you have about this please feel free! This is a very very bare bones thought and I think fleshing it out with friends would be more fun than just trying to write awhile Ace Attorney case on my own
