An attempt to explain K (a thread)
First of all, I want to make it clear that K is one of my favs and I identify with him and Jay the most out of the entire cast. Like both of them, I& #39;m a very headstrong person and too honest to the point of bluntness. So yes, this is biased.++
First of all, I want to make it clear that K is one of my favs and I identify with him and Jay the most out of the entire cast. Like both of them, I& #39;m a very headstrong person and too honest to the point of bluntness. So yes, this is biased.++
Anyway, I would like to start by appealing to people& #39;s common sense. As someone a bit older I have had my shortcomings pointed out to me by even my closest friends and family, things that I knew and didn& #39;t know. Today K experienced this in front of the whole world to see.++
K is a hardworking person to the point of perfectionism. He wants his group to do well & does not settle for less but unfortunately is a bit stuck to his ways. This + him being the oldest member was a fatal combo for him as most members did not feel comfortable "telling him off"+
Today, after a lot of hesitation, Heeseung was able to do that. They spoke about it, K cried (& believe me those were genuine tears because a person like him would never cry on camera like that unless that had truly affected him), they talked earnestly and efforts were made.++
We& #39;ll need another episode to see what has been K& #39;s more immediate response to this but it will be a work in progress. I am 25 and have made it a point to myself to work on this everyday and some days are better than others. We all have our shortcomings++
But it is in Ks nature to do his best--he IS a team player--he was just never told that he had to change xyz to do be better at it. Another thing to keep in mind is how stressful this whole situation is for all the members, both young and older.++
While the younger members are allowed to express vulnerability and receive hugs from their hyungs the hyungs hold the stress inside. This could manifest in many ways: being hesitant, lacking confidence, sadness, anger, playing it off etc. The members are not only in the run for++
Their dreams but being plastered on screens across the world and being judged by people who do not know them or their background. K knows this really well and has a hard time accepting this and dealing with this reality he& #39;s landed himself into. Tbf no one can prepare for this.++
Lastly, I need to make a point on the WORST case of evil editing I have seen from Mnet in any of their shows. It& #39;s gotten to a point where everytime K is on screen there& #39;s some ominous bomb diffusion track being played, scenes are slowed down, sliced up, faces are zoomed in++
And the drama is dragged out for what seemed like nearly a quarter of the episode. As much as you might believe that you are free from being manipulated from this form of editing it& #39;s nearly impossible to do so when it becomes this bad.++
It& #39;s up to us, the fans, to stop and remember that our idols are also humans with pros, cons, worries, stress, grievances and personalities of their own. We need to remember that people CAN change and WANT to when it means something to them. This goes for all trainees.++
