Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest & At World’s End (2006, 2007)

Starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy

Both films grossed over $950k each & were filmed back to back. 🏴‍☠️
In this scene, Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and James Norrington fight for the key which opens the Dead Man’s Chest, containing the heart of Davy Jones. The scene was filmed on a sandbar couple miles south of Sandy Cay (also known as White Cay) , west of Exuma.
Grand Bahama Marina was used for scenes where ships went out to sea. The Flying Dutchman ship full scale prop that was used for both films was located at Castaway Cay before being removed Nov. 2010.
Holiday In The Sun (2001)

Starring Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Megan Fox

Mary Kate and Ashley visit The Bahamas for winter break and get involved with a man smuggling stolen artifacts. ☀️ 👯‍♀️
Mary Kate and Ashley are known for travelling to exotic locations such as Paris, Austrailia, London and Rome. So it was such a great moment to see them choosing The Bahamas as their next location.
Believe it or not, the leads were thrown into a Bahamian jail. 😂😂 A few Bahamians acted in the film and our Royal Bahamas Police Force Uniforms were on display.
Casino Royale (2006)

Starring Daniel Craig, Mads Mikkelsen, Judi Dench

007 makes his way back to The Bahamas after filming there many years ago. He embarks on a mission to prevent a mob boss from winning a high stakes poker game. 🎰🔫
James Bond flies into Nassau and is seen driving on West Bay St, passing Compass Point on his way to The Ocean Club. The resort is heavily showcased in the film as Bond has an ocean side villa.
The construction site chase scene at the beginning of the film was originally an abandoned hotel site in Coral Harbour that was once under construction. It’s now part of the Defense Force Base.
The Other Woman (2014)

Starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton

Three woman find out they are romantically involved with the same man and decide to take revenge on him. 💋
Leslie Mann’s character arrives at The Lynden Pindling International Airport where many Bahamians are featured as background characters, creating the hectic vibe of the airport.
The first half of the clip showcases Downtown Nassau, which is cool to see in a major motion picture. The second half shows the vibrant party scene at The Cove on Paradise Island.
Into The Blue (2005)

Starring Paul Walker, Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin

A couple discovers a shipwreck containing bags of cocaine, gaining the attention of a drug kingpin. 🤿✈️
The filming in the movie was made possible by the development of shark tourism in The Bahamas.
There’s a chase scene throughout New Providence streets, featuring school students, Bahamians who knew it was their time to shine and a lot of “jook jook corners”.
Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010)

Starring Janet Jackson, Jill Scott and Tyler Perry

A sequel to the hit stage play turned movie, four couples try their best to improve their relationships by attending a week-long retreat in The Bahamas. 💍❓
Married Man by the late Ronnie Butler transitions the film to The Bahamas, Eleuthera to be specific.
Tyler Perry said he wanted to showcase other islands, not just New Providence and the couples stay at a BEAUTIFUL beach front resort on Eleuthera.
After The Sunset (2004)

Starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, Don Cheadle

Two retired jewel thieves go head to head with a FBI agent while planning a diamond heist in The Bahamas. 💎🌅
The script set the film in the Caribbean, so they decided to shoot in The Bahamas, highlighting the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island.
In one scene, Woody Harrelson receives a room upgrade, transferring to the Bridge Suite, which is known as one of the most expensive suites in the world. ($25K per night)
Flipper (1996)

Starring Paul Hogan, Elijah Woods, Jonathan Banks

A boy spends his summer with his uncle in the Florida Gold Coast and befriends a dolphin.
The film takes place in the seaside town of Coral Key, but actually was filmed entirely in The Bahamas. The Nassau Yacht Haven is a favorite shooting location and the marina docked the ferry in the film. It was also home-base for Universal Studios during filming.
In this scene we see Elijah Wood’s character observing a few dolphins swimming in crystal clear waters. Dolphin Encounters provided three dolphins to play the film’s star.
Thunderball (1965)

Starring Sean Connery, Claudine Auger, Luciana Paluzzi

James Bond is on a mission to locate two NATO bombs and the search leads him to The Bahamas. A majority of the film was shot in The Bahamas.
In one scene, Bond evades a deadly assassin and several henchmen by running straight into an ongoing Junkanoo festival on West Bay Street. The film crew staged the parade in April and many Bahamians joined in, definitely having a great time.
The Silence of The Lambs (1991)

Starring Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn

An FBI agent, seeks help from serial killer Hannibal Lecter to catch another serial killer 🔪 🐑
In the closing scene of the movie, Hannibal Lecter phones FBI Agent Starling in Alice Town, North Bimini before disappearing into the busy street. Lecter truly believed its better in The Bahamas.
Jaws The Revenge (1987)

Starring Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest, Michael Caine

A great white shark continues to terrorize the Brody family, following them to The Bahamas.
Jaws Beach received its name from multiple scenes being filmed at that location. The plane that crashes at the end of this scene is a popular undersea exploration site for scuba divers.
Beneath The Blue (2010)

Starring Leah Eneas, Paul Wesley, Caitlin Wachs

Chronicles events in The Bahamas when dolphin researchers clash with the US Navy over the latter’s sonar program, killing dolphins.
