I hope tonight or this weekend you can find 25 minutes to spend some time with the latest installment in our series Inside Woodlawn.

@SeveranceTVnews sat down with four Woodlawn educators for a captivating and important discussion on race and education
These educators – Jai Blair, Lionel Clegg, Mary Evans and Anthony Lowery – have been gracious all year with their time and insights.

The conversations our nation is having now about race and equity? Well, they've been having those conversations in this school for much longer.
We'd all be well-served to listen. We talk about wanting more teachers of color in our schools, so why is a program that recruits and trains those very people ending? It's the same program that got Jai, Anthony and Lionel their teaching jobs and funding for it is now gone.
We talk about wanting to create communities for Black families to thrive, but many of the Black families who built the Woodlawn neighborhood can no longer afford to live there. Even teachers who grew up in the neighborhood are forced to now live in less expensive areas.
The piece gets into those issues and much more. I urge you to watch. And in addition to Cristin, shout-out to @GeneCottonKGW, the photojournalist/editor who made this project shine.
