People who say “we should live and do everything like the Prophet ﷺ and sahaba did” are kind of flawed. Like I understand that that’s the goal but this exact “stick to one life” mindset makes it easy to call about everything else “bid’ah” or “immitation of kufaar”.

We can’t possibly live like that anymore. We do the things they did but not HOW they did it. And especially with things that never even existed then, but are useful now. We follow them, but we can’t LIVE like them if that makes sense. “The Prophet ﷺ never did it, why us?”

He never ate pizza either, is that bid’ah and immitation then? He never had plaster walls, or a standing bed.
