Colorism panels always go like this: the dark skinned black woman talks about her experiences, she gets gaslit by black men and light skinned women, then the light skinned mixed girl brings up her struggle of being made feel like she wasn’t ‘black enough’ & equates it to colorism
Then the conversation gets reduced to a ‘dark skin vs light skin beef’, then someone mentions how light skinned men also experience colorism because people associate light skin to femininity & think they’re ‘soft’. 🤦🏾‍♂️🙄 meanwhile the main topic at hand gets derailed over again.
I’ve grown weary of watching colorism panels for this reason. I only stick to Chrissie’s channel because nobody does it like her. Nobody. Most people coddle black men (who perpetuate colorism) and light skinned people (particularly women). It doesn’t achieve anything.
