I'm doing a late #FridayFunding5 which is where I point out 5 tips / funds / free help with funding creative work every Friday.
This week it's 5 ways to fund a @FunPalaces
(Even though they can be done for free but if you're in a precarious community, finance can enable)

1) You can apply for Tesco community grants, they are currently doing a COVID-response funding stream with a quick turn around if your Fun Palace is tackling one of their priorities.

2) Co-op do a thing with no online presence I can find called "Community Donations" (different from their local community fund). Apparently you go into your local store and ask the manager to apply for you and you can apply up to ÂŁ250 for a community event or project.
I have an email from a co-op head office person saying this is real but I haven't tested it yet, if anyone has success with it, let me know!
3) You can always apply to Arts Council England project grants (or the equivalent in other areas), full info is here, the turn around is coming through really quick atm so you might have time to get an app in before your Fun Palace.

4) If you think you want to crowdsource funds, check out OpenCollective. It's a great crowdfunding platform (created by an Argentinian political organiser) where you don't need a bank acc as they can host funds. Community-orientated + transparent.

5) The people's postcode trust is OPEN. This is maybe one for next year so check back again then. They prefer to fund smaller charities and community groups on the themes "Promoting human rights, Combatting discrimination and Preventing poverty".

I'm trying #FridayFunding5 out for a while in case it's useful, if it's not, I'll stop. I'm trying to demystify arts + creative funding and make it all less scary.
Best of luck
