So get this, the fed govt is paying bonuses to private job agencies for 'placing' and keeping people in a job that ends up being paid for by JobKeeper. It's a taxpayer cash merry-go-round as doubt clouds future for those on income support. My piece: https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/politics/2020/08/29/exclusive-jobactive-virus-kickbacks-top-500-million/159862320010323
Now, why would the govt need to be so generous? Well, they told me is was all about "managing the risks to their [the providers'] workforce and viability." It's almost as if their past 'success' has nothing to do with them and everything to do with the labour market.
Thanks, as ever, to the remarkable work of @AusUnemployment and its policy/media brains. I continue to be amazed at the scale and organisation of the movement.
If you know more, and especially if you work for a job agency or on policy regarding jobactive, I wanna hear from you. Confidentiality assured. [email protected]
