Track by track review of Katy Perry's new album SMILE.

1) NEVER REALLY OVER - Fun but I really hope this isn't about Russell Brand. Would be a great song for browsing a thrift store.
2) CRY ABOUT IT LATER - "Tonight I'm getting some/tonight I'm getting someone new". Sounds like she decided to punch up these lyrics later and never got around to it.
3) TEARY EYES - "just keep on dancing with those teary eyes." If I saw someone crying on the dance floor I would have to go home (not that I need much of an excuse! Not a big fan of night clubs!)
4) DAISIES - "When did we stop believing in magic?" I believe it was Sept 11, 2001, Katy!
5) RESILIENT - "I go to sleep every night punching a pillow" That's not good for you or your pillows and I should know, I'm the MY PILLOW guy!
6) NOT THE END OF THE WORLD - a chilling rebuke to R.E.M.'s "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". Where does she get all this positivity from? Is she not on the internet?
7) SMILE - this is the 3rd song in a row about being happy. Definitely a song you'll hear in Ross-Dress-For-Less while waiting to check out, totally expression-less.
8) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS - this album is boring. Regret starting this thread.
9) TUCKED - this is for the gays!
10) HARLEYS IN HAWAII - i read that this was co-written by Charlie Puth who is famous for being cute and uninteresting. They rhyme "hula" with "jeweler" which should be considered a war crime.
11) ONLY LOVE - She wants only love? What about trust? Stability? Someone who challenges you to grow. You don't want a partner, you want a puppy!
12) WHAT MAKES A WOMAN - Katy should do a country album.
Final Thoughts - "Never Really Over" is the only song I liked but I'm glad the album was a brisk 36 minutes. Sorry for doing this thread.
