abolish the instagram infographic industrial complex

its getting really annoying how very serious issues and info feels like it has to be packaged in pastel colors and cute fonts to be worthy of attention. not to mention a lot of them are grossly misinformed and harmful anyway but thats a whole other issue...

i just saw smt that was like "kyle rittenhouse is a white supremacist" but w a pastel green background and comic booky block letters. fucking why?? what is with the huge gap between aesthetic and topic???

do they feel the need to design it in this way bc it somehow mitigates the gravity of what its about? would it be just too much to handle on its own? ppl are fucking dying!!!

the worst is when they have one slide thats cute fonts and easy-on-the-eyes colors and then the next slide is a reshare of graphic/triggering footage that u really shouldnt be circulating anyway

idk man i mean im all for sending out necessary info and educational resources in an accessible way. but the way so many ppl approach it is just very insensitive and detached and tone-deaf...
