Why BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s ”Play the part like Moses” IS NOT -sexualizing the prophet
-meant to be offensive or explicit

*A THREAD*
Before you come here storming, for those of you who were GENUINELY offended....
NO...I am not trying to invalidate your feelings.
I will just try to do my best explaining this whole thing that has blown out of proportion here and to clear out any misinformation.
I can see why some of you were offended since many tweets were trying to interpret what the meaning of those lyrics meant. In which some assumed it meant something sexual considering that the song had some subtle and not so subtle metaphors/lines.

.
like in the picture below me
However, the lyricist, or writer, has explained the meaning according to Genius. They further explained that it is simply a term they used to describe what their partner should be like, someone who goes all out, implying that Moses is the “standard”......
This could also be why the sentenced is structured like that... “Play the part (the sea parting) like Moses “(whom did the parting thanks to Yahweh/God). Basically, it is just simply a metaphor that had no sexual intentions.
But even after this came out... many had already assumed it as provocative lyrics and the sexualizing of a prophet. Which lead to this misinformation in the first place.
Now again... I’m just trying to explain this whole thing as best as I can with precautions. And if you are using this incident to cause fanwars or to vilify the girls, that is just wrong, disgusting and you’re making the others whom were ACTUALLY offended look bad.
