Today on my way to lab, I took a fall off my bike. A delivery truck was parked in the bike lane, so I had to bike around it. As I was weaving back into the bike lane, my tire got caught on a muni rail. 1/

A kind stranger stopped, and helped me get back on my feet. She got my bike into the back of her minivan, and drove me to work. 2/

As she was helping get the bike into her car, a cop car pulled up. They asked if I was ok. I pointed back at the truck that was still parked in the bike lane. I told them that this truck had forced me out of the bike lane and into traffic, and ultimately across the tracks. 3/

They looked back at it, shrugged. I was still very shaken and disoriented, so I didn't argue or insist they ticket them. They drove off. Literally did nothing to actually help. Even when the driver of the truck was clearly in the wrong and had indirectly caused an accident. 4/

So now I'm sore, still shaken, and nothing will be done to make our biking infrastructure safer. My cloning better have worked .
