Post my thoughts often bc people like this exist that take everything as a personal attack,,I'm just so tired and kinda angry so I'm just going to post my thoughts that I typed up months ago and stayed in the drafts

While I don't mind the fics that this fandom has produced (in fact I love them) but I always am dissapointed with the lack of "Japaness" in fics. However, I'd rather have no "Japaness" than an poorly done westernized version of Japan,,,(this was my original)

(from here on new thoughts) Like I don't know how to address this bc writing fanfic is supposed to be fun but I struggle to write hq fics bc I'm constantly thinking about my Japan and how that's different from the Japan my mom knows and how even that's different from Japan today

I'm very jealous of the people who can write an anime fic without even considering the country that produced the anime in the first place

I know that I can't control how people write and I don't want this to be like "you have to study Japanese culture to write a fanfic" bc you should write what makes you happy but like I think this needs to be said,,

I watch anime bc it makes me feel connected to a culture I'm so far away from,,,my sister came to me crying after watching this one anime with a jp festival in it bc she started missing my grandma's old house that we can't return to bc it's gone,,,

I don't think I've ever read a haikyuu matsuri fic,,I have such fond memories of them and I would love to write one but I haven't had the energy to write anything ever since 2020 began,,,

This thread isn't here to tell people what to do,,,it's just my thoughts as one out of the many half Japanese people in an anime fandom and I'm very interested in hearing from everyone else (not just Japanese people)
