For the anniversary of the March on Washington, I revisited MLK& #39;s "I Have a Dream" speech & Lewis& #39; speech. Both are moving, not just because they& #39;re great orators, but because their ideas still ring true today. We still have work to achieve MLK& #39;s dream, but we& #39;re getting there 1/
A video of MLK giving his speech...gives me goosebumps every time! 2/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP4iY1TtS3s">https://www.youtube.com/watch...
Video & background about Lewis& #39; speech. I think its even more impressive knowing he was only 23 when he gave it. It also went through a lot of last minute edits. x/ https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/28/politics/john-lewis-march-on-washington-police-brutality/index.html">https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/2...
This thread shares the edits Lewis’ speech went through. The part I find most interesting is that Lewis was EXTREMELY audacious to say that the nation had just awakened to the evils of segregation to A. PHILLIP RANDOLPH.
