Listen, don& #39;t follow me just becos of the numbers of followers I& #39;ve got. Rather, follow me for the content and reasoning. 1/6
It& #39;s a principle I developed following my realisation that a lot of FT account (especially those with large audience) thrive on sentimentalism and borrowed ideas based on what a larger account adopts, & it appears they do so for endorsement purposes from the larger accounts. 2/6
For instance, do you recall the time when a large section of fans succumbed to the ideology propagated by their idolised FT accounts in saying that "the board shouldn& #39;t buy Top players becos it would block our academy players"? 3/6
Do you recall how certain players get brute criticisms, but when it& #39;s a player that they romanticise with, the tune changes, and they make excuses and defences and even label you "reactionary", when you voice your disappointment in their beloved player(s)? 4/6
What I& #39;m saying is that, as we enter a new season in 2 weeks time, have your independent thinking cap on. Don& #39;t follow FT accounts just so you can get a response just to feel valid or endorsed. Think for yourself. Be logical. Analyse the games without fear or flatter. 5/6
As we enter the new season, be bold, be part of the moments beautiful or ugly. Support the team, and feel free to criticise as much as you praise. But whatever you do, do it as a true blue. And keep the flag flying high. See you in the season. 6/6
