Governor Newsom is holding a press conference right now. They are changing the county watch list to a colored tier. Orange County looks to have been moved to the purple category and it seems its a 21 day mandatory wait before you can move.

Once you’re assigned a tier you have to be there for 21 days. Before you can move to the next tier you must have met that tier’s requirements for at least 2 weeks. You cant skip a tier.

Once you move to the red tier you have to wait for 2 straight weeks before opening schools.

Interactive website should be up and running ( http://Covid19.ca.gov  ) you can put in your county and a specific category (like barbers) and see if they are open (per state not county)

New COVID psa ad from the State of California

California is working with Yelp to allow customers to validate health and safety measures being followed at local businesses.

Facebook providing businesses the ability to describe their safety precautions and label update posts with “COVID-19 Updates” (open/closed for business)

OpenTable is now allowing businesses to list their safety precautions to provide consumers the transparency to make an informed decision on whether they want to eat at that establishment.

Google is also working on features in search and maps to communicate safety measures

California state legislature will be announcing an eviction moratorium later today.

Looks like case counts are now getting a 7 day lag (previous 3 day, though OC was not using any lag)

Opening criteria is looking at daily new cases (more than 7 per 100k) and positive tests (more than 8%).

Seems like counties get locked into tiers starting Monday for at least 21 days.

In order to move levels, it has to be at least 21 days w/ the last 14 straight days meeting the next level criteria.

For schools, if you move from purple to red you have to wait 2 additional weeks.

For Orange County residents angry, you should focus that anger on the county supervisors and health agency who have been lying about the data. We’ve been doing better, but they manipulated numbers to reopen faster.

Moving the goalpost absolutely sucks. This is on them.
