Not to sound pretentious but i strongly encourage y'all to save your twitter thread fics on ao3, even ones that dont feel "worth it." Ao3 is a fic archive dedicated to preservation of fanworks and its gonna last and Twitter would nuke your whole acct for one (1) corn chip
It also may not be around forever; look what happened with Tumblr. Hell look what happened with live journal and Yahoo groups. Social media sites arent your friends, but what's more they're temporary. Even ones that feel like they might last forever are crumbling empires
And I get being embarrassed of ypur stuff or feeling like you won't care abt it later but trust me, no matter what, dedicating months and even YEARS to work that's just gone in an instant hurts like hell
(To clarify i am aware tumblr and LiveJournal *exist* still but they arent the same fan spaces they once were, they're not Safe Places for problematic things or explicit works and they burned their userbase badly. There's plenty of other platforms that just dont exist now tho)
Also I think its worth mentioning that what you make may feel insignificant or embaressing, but i guarantee theres someone out there who's gonna ache to see it gone
Edit: A lot of ppl have added that you should save it to a google doc at least and i strongly encourage that too!

However, Ao3 is a site where your work will be accessible by *other ppl* for a long time, which is also important (& lets not forget email acct or computer issues)
Not everyone may want ppl to see their forever & thats understandable, but so much is lost when ppl feel like their work is too shameful or unimportant to archive & i want to encourage ppl to fight this kind of thinking. Your work matters & is a valuable part of fandom history!
Yes this includes half finished stories or things in a non-fic format or funny ideas youve come up with that went nowhere! Yes that includes headcanons and meta! Yes that includes rps (where all partners consent to it being archived)! Its all important and worth preserving!
