🔸Who is Leeds' new striker Rodrigo and should we consider him for our @OfficialFPL teams?

#FPL #FPLCommunity
Rodrigo played in Spain for Valencia. He played there for 6 seasons scoring 38 goals.
He also had a 1 year loan spell at Bolton back in 2010 and scored 1 goal!
What are his strengths and style of play?
He likes to hold the ball up and do lay offs. Also is strong at passing and making key passes. He is also dangerous on the counter attack.
Here's his heat map. The first thing I thought when I saw it was that it looks similar to Firmino's heat map last season. Let's compare some of his numbers comapred to Firmino last season.
(Rodrigo 1st, Firmino 2nd)
Rodrigo for Valencia in La Liga 2019/20
Minutes: 1,880
Goals per 90: 0.2
Assists per 90: 0.3
Chances created per 90: 1.6
xG per 90: 0.27
xA per 90: 0.21
Firmino for Liverpool in the Premier League 2019/20
Minutes: 2,988
Goals per 90: 0.3
Assists per 90: 0.2
Chances created per 90: 1.8
xG per 90: 0.4
xA per 90: 0.18
Firmino's stats are slightly better but are actually similar to Rodrigo's ones. It is interesting to see that Leeds aren't going out to buy an put and out striker!
Let's now compare him to his future strike partner Bamford. Here is Bamford's heat map. Again its another busy heat map!
Patrick Bamford last season
Minutes: 3,445
Goals per 90: 0.4
Assists per 90: 0.05
Chances created per 90: 0.7
Who will start? No idea! You never know with Bielsa after he barley played Nketiah last season!
In my opinion Rodrigo isnt a strong option for our FPL team. He might look good on the eye like Firmino but won't get much points! What do you think? Will he be in your gw1 team?
