The people that won’t wear masks are the same people that won’t wear seatbelts, helmets, condoms or drive sober. They don’t care about safety because they don’t care about themselves. We cannot force people to care about themselves and therefore care about others. But we can ask

And we can keep asking. We can keep wearing our protective gear and we can keep those who won’t out of public places via good business practices. But the most resistance we’ll get is from ppl who don’t care about their own lives so why should they care about ours?

Protect yourself and help others who want and need protection. Ask and encourage, but when we encounter the uber defiant, remember, they hate themselves and that’s not ammo to use against them, it’s a question. Maybe we should find out why they don’t care about their own lives?

What darkness lies in the lives of those who care so little for themselves and the rest of society? What can we do to show them we care about them even if they themselves do not?

We have no choice but to care about them because the fact they won’t protect themselves and others effects us and our loved ones.

There are a large portion of people in my very red state that have simply given up. So they’re not gonna wear masks, seatbelts, helmets, condoms or drive sober or not abuse substances. And we write them off and they continue the destructive behavior.

We do this with kids in schools all the time. This is the same thing. Writing people off because you can’t get through to them. Then we’re part of the problem. We’ve just become more ppl that turned their backs. Why then should they care now when we have forgotten about them bf?

We ignored their plights in life. We wrote them off as bad eggs. But they didn’t start that way. These are jaded people and need to know someone cares about them and find out why they don’t care about themselves. Our system of caring is broken.

I’m broken. I know I am because I get so angry at these people and why? They won’t wear masks and people I care about are sick and dying. But these people who won’t wear masks do not care about themselves at all. And I want to scream at them. That’s on me though.

I don’t know the answer. I only know that my anger doesn’t help or change minds. It only hurts and build up resentment.
