This is the full text of The Russia Report.

This thread contains extracts. It is truly shocking and very scary. Our government and security services have been 'asleep at the wheel'.

We (UK) are now engaged in damage limitation at best.

#RussiaReport https://tinyurl.com/russiareport2020
P8 (1) - "...Russia considers the UK one of its top Western intelligence targets: while we may not experience the level and type of threat that countries on Russia’s borders suffer, witnesses have suggested that we would sit just behind the US and NATO in any priority list."
P12 (5) - "Since 2014, Russia has carried out malicious cyber activity in order to assert itself aggressively in a number of spheres, including attempting to influence the democratic elections of other countries"
P12 (5) - "Russia’s cyber capability, when combined with its willingness to deploy it in a malicious capacity, is a matter of grave concern, and poses an immediate and urgent threat to our national security."
P15 (8) - "The UK is clearly a target for Russia’s disinformation campaigns and political influence operations35 and must therefore equip itself to counter such efforts."
P18 (11) - "Overall, the issue of defending the UK’s democratic processes and discourse has appeared to be something of a ‘hot potato’, with no one organisation recognising itself as having an overall lead."
P18 (11) - "the social media companies which hold the key and yet are failing to play their part; DCMS informed us that The Government must now seek to establish a protocol with the SM companies to ensure that they take covert hostile state use of their platforms seriously,
P19 (12) - "The aim is sound, but the response proposed is still rather fragmented (with at least ten separate teams within Government involved,"

"a foreign power seeking to interfere in our democratic processes – whether it is successful or not – cannot be taken lightly;"
Botttom of P19 "Case study: the EU referendum"

Para 40. The incompetence alluded to here Is mind boggling!
P20 (13) - "...only when Russia completed a ‘hack and leak’ operation against the DNCommittee in the US – with the stolen emails being made public a month after the EU referendum – the (UK) Government belatedly realised the level of threat which Russia could pose in this area"
P21 (14) - "We have not been provided with any post-referendum assessment of Russian attempts at interference,"

Un-f*ck!ng-believable!
P22 (15) - "Whilst the Russian elite have developed ties with a number of countries in recent years, it would appear that the UK has been viewed as a particularly favourable destination for Russian oligarchs and their money. "
P22 (15) - The statements on this page are gripping and terrifying, I will leave you to read or skim the rest of the report at your leisure.
P22 (15) - "The links of the Russian elite to the UK – especially where this involves business and investment – provide access to UK companies and political figures, and thereby a means for broad Russian influence in the UK."
P23 (16) - " To a certain extent, this cannot be untangled and the priority now must be to mitigate the risk and ensure that, where hostile activity is uncovered,
the tools exist to tackle it at source."

There you have it "damage limitation at best"
and we're only half-way through the report. The rest is yours to read/skim at your leisure.

The British pubic have been betryed by their government and failed by their security forces.

Be afraid, be very afraid.
