I would like to complain about corporate 'woke-washing' this is basically when a super giant company pretends like it cares about you and the general goodwill of humanity MORE than their profits. They do not. Let's take Ben & Jerry's for example...
Ben & Jerry's had a history of activism and quickly aligned themselves with BLM. However. In 2001 the company Unilever bought B&Js. The majority shares of B&J is therfore owned by Unilever. This is similar to how Instagram is owned by Facebook.
B&Js can act as woke as they want with their brand but that is 100% a marketing scheme. They are owned by a company worth over 100 billion dollars. Unilever is an unethical company. Human rights violations. Factory-farming. Violations of environmental reporting. Workers rights.
At the VERY best B&Js (and the other 400+ brands owned by Unilever) are sellouts - aka they care more about profit than you.
Support local ice cream brands if you can. Donate the money you would justify spending on B&Js cause they 'donate a portion of profits' directly to the organization you want that money to go to.
Obviously it is a luxury to pick and choose which brands to support but if you have that luxury please just do it
Ok rant over. I just care deeply about ice cream, thank you
